Creating a bespoke engagement ring!

At the beginning of the year we had a student named Aaron who applied to complete a 6 week placement with us. During his placement we decided to give him a project to create a bespoke engagement ring CAD drawing.

After going over some initial ideas of designs with Aaron, Selina & the team we agreed on creating a 9 ct yellow gold ring with an oval centre stone and pear & marquise shaped side stones. The CAD drawing pictured below was created by Aaron during his placement with us, it included the colour of stones we had original planned to use, however during the development and progression of making the ring the colour theme changed.

Throughout this project we wanted to involve our followers on Instagram as much as possible, along with updates, we sent out polls on our Instagram stories which allowed our followers to vote on what they preferred from the colours of stones to naming the ring! Once the ring was cast from the wax the stones we finally picked to set into the ring were an oval London blue topaz, two pear orange sapphires & two marquise yellow sapphires.

Earlier this month we finally completed our peacock dream ring named after the inspiration behind the use of cool and warm tones found within peacock feathers. The end result of the ring met all our expectations and more! What makes the ring even more unique is that the ring has only been created once and is a one of a kind bespoke piece.
