Recycled silver engagement ring

Recycling or re-purposing  is a simple way to transform sentimental jewellery into a brand new piece of jewellery. I was recently approached by a customer with a broken engagement ring; he had originally proposed to his partner with this silver ring while at University and has since replaced it. Instead of leaving the ring broken and discarded, he brought it to the showroom to discuss recycling old jewellery.

I was able to reshape the silver, solder it back together and add a hidden loop on the reverse side, to create a heart shaped pendant. The customer was delighted with the result and surprised his partner with it for Valentines Day.
